“Venerable sir, this is half of the holy life, that is, good friendship, good companionship, good comradeship.”
“Not so, Ānanda! Not so, Ānanda! This is the entire holy life, Ānanda, that is, good friendship, good companionship, good comradeship. When a bhikkhu has a good friend, a good companion, a good comrade, it is to be expected that he will develop and cultivate the Noble Eightfold Path."

Uposatha (Moon Days)
Uposathas are Buddhist observance days to deepen one's practice and renew intentions. We have begun observing these by extending the evening meditations on these days.
We are a Theravada Buddhist group based in Calgary, Alberta and are friends of Birken Forest Monastery and Canmore Theravada Buddhist Community. We meet daily for meditation sessions and weekly on Sundays for Dhamma discussions. The group is hosted by Dhammapāla virtually and at his house most gatherings (on pause due to covid).
